YEEHAW!!!

I guess I am one among many who benefits from the fact that Phil appears to like playing in Denver (and Morrison). Might I be greedy and hope that he comes back to play the latter later this summer. I hate to raise the specter of W. in these pages, but to quote his words I say, "Bring 'em on!!!".

Wanna Trade ???

Summer Schedule

I was hoping to make a post on here and that Phil Lesh might read it.
Phil,
As one of your Northern Cal. fans I am once again incredibly dissapointed with your
summer tour shedule. I have been to the Warfield so many times, I dread having to go
to the Tenderloin in order to enjoy your music live. It is very difficult for fans outside of the bay to get down to the Warfield for shows especially if they are on weeknights.
Grateful Dead music makes me want to take off my shoes and dance around in the grass in my bare feet. Why do forget your home turf when you schedule these summer tours? One night at Marysville and Greek show or two would do, but have your ever though about expanding in this area? How bout a bay -area run where you do Marysville, Konocti Harbor or Concord, ands even Harvey's up at Lake Tahoe? You have many choices here in your native land yet you seem to consistently forget about us when it comes to your summer tours. Northern California is one of the most beautiful places on earth and the deadheads here are dying to enjoy your music in the comforts of the outdoors again. How bout some outdoor shows out west before the fall??
Thanks, I hope you got the message!

It just goes to show...

... that you can't please everybody. Many of my friends enjoy seeing shows at the Warfield. I think it's a nice venue, BART runs right to the front door, and there are any number of "goods" and "services" available to purchase in the Tenderloin neighborhood, generally within 2 or 3 blocks of the Warfield.
Though I could not caution all I yet may warn a few, be careful there cuz it can be a very risky proposition at times in the Tenderloin.

Oh, and I saw Jerry up in Tahoe, let's just say it's not the most Deadhead friendly locale. They don't get the parking lot thing, those folks really think that you should spend your time in their casinos. Also another note of caution, the state of Nevada has some very draconian laws...

Hey I am going to the Warfield for the first time. I am from missouri and not very knowledgable of the area. I read that the staff inside suck and always a-holes. How about the outside scene and the area? Is it a bad part of town? Thanks! Who else is going let me know.

It was all good tonight, folks. The first set was absolutely smoking with a hot, snaky Speedway and a sizzling, dizzying Cumberland. Vocals were breathtaking at times with just a few weak spots (Easy Wind). Phil sang as good as I've ever heard him and was impressive on Peter and Operator.

In the second act, the whole set was a grin-inducing treat with a monster Sugar Mag, a tender Brokedown and perhaps the best version ever of Attics. Truckin was the perfect way to send us out the door.- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
